We often ask a question here on the pod – can people manifest their own hauntings. We know that hauntings have occurred via summoning with objects like ouija boards. There are also residual hauntings from large amounts of spiritual energy being imprinted on to a space, like traumatic or extremely happy moments or even repetitive events that leave their mark on a home or a piece of land that can still be felt years after those people are gone. But what about creating a haunting purely from thought?

There are some who believe that this is possible, so today we’re discussing tulpas, egregores and a group who believes they may have created their own spirit simply by thinking of him. We’re about to get weird, so I hope you have your tea and your craft ready for this one.

Poland is a country with a very long and turbulent history. Its ancient roots go back thousands of years when it was believed that a diverse population of ethnic groups inhabited the land of present-day Poland long before the first ruling dynasty took over in the 10th century. It has seen many rulers with different ideals of how a nation should be led. It's been through war where countless people have lost their lives for one nefarious reason or another. Its journey to the current democratic republic it is, is fascinating, but more fascinating to us here at Ghosteas is the potential for paranormal activity and legends stemming from its storied history.

When it comes to haunted locations, we all know prisons will nearly always make the list. But what kind of paranormal activity can you expect from a place known for its cruel and unusual methods? What kind of darkness lies in wait when the building was used for punishment that is known to have driven some mad, that is if they survived it at all. Today, we’re talking about one such place. The Eastern State Penitentiary is known for its transformation of the prison system when it was opened, and the supposed hauntings of those who endured it ever since.
