So I'm here to tell you about another show that I love, and which - if you're enjoying our take on Dracula so far? - you should definitely check out.  Gabriel Urbina: This week, I want to tell you all about Victoriocity, the steam-punk comedy mystery detective thriller from Chris and Jen Sugden. Starring the amazing duo of Tom Crowley and Layla Katib as sardonic Inspector Archibald Fleet and intrepid reporter Clara Entwhistle, the series follows their adventures in the Even Greater London of 1887. Ruled over by the mechanized Queen Victoria, Even Greater London is a place of amazing inventions, dark villainy, and high adventure.  Gabriel Urbina: Victoriocity is one of those shows where.. you don't just listen to it, it kind of becomes your whole personality for a while after you first encounter it. The performances are pitch perfect, the writing is sparkling, the whole thing just brims with affection for the literature and storytelling tropes of the Victorian era, and it is, I cannot underline this enough, one of the funniest podcasts out there. And there's no time like the present to get obsessed with Victoriocity, since their first tie-in novel, High Vaultage, just came out. So for anyone that's been looking for a... Series creator Gabriel Urbina here. Dracula: The Danse Macabre releases every two weeks, and this is one of the weeks when we... don't have a new episode out for you all. I'm sorry! But - but - but... I do have something to make it up to you. During these off weeks, I want to share with all of you episodes of other fiction podcasts that I love, and which I think you'll love as well. Think of it as... companion pieces to Dracula. If you've liked what you've heard of our show so far, you'll probably like these shows and should check them out. Gabriel Urbina: The first podcast that I want to highlight here is The Case of the Greater Gatsby, by the fine folks over at Shipwrecked Comedy. It is a hilarious take on the conventions of film noir, as we follow the adventures of taciturn private eye Ford Phillips and his fast-talking partner Fig Wineshine. The two of them have to delve into the muck of 1940's Hollywood as they try to solve the murder of acclaimed novelist, F. Scott Fitzgerald.  Gabriel Urbina: Now, just from that description, you can probably already tell why I love this show. It's fast, it's snappy, it's got great dialogue, and it blends the lines between a literary adaptation and historical fiction in all of these really smart, creative ways. But I don't think anything I could say here would properly convey just how charming the characters are, how genuinely gripping the mystery plotline in the show is, and just how many fun, clever things they do with the audio format. So, instead of trying and failing, I want to just play for you the first episode of The Case of the Greater Gatsby. How does that sound? Good? All right, I thought so too.
